This project covers three eras of human history, the Astral Revolution, the Scramble for the Heavens, and the Second Age of Exploration. The “Present” of the setting is the year 2000.

Astral Revolution

1876-1900 The Astra Revolution is the period of rapid change following the discovery of the Astral Engine. Lasting just 24 years, this period saw the colonization of Luna and Earth orbit, the development of technologies critical to space travel, and the integration of the Astral Engine into Earthbound industries and infrastructure.

Scramble for the Heavens

1900 - 1930 The Scramble for the Heavens was a period of rising tension as various powers raced to colonize the Sol system. The period saw the United States and Britain expand their empires, and saw other powers join them. This period culminated in the War of the Worlds and concluded with the completion of the Sol-Centauri Jump Gate.

Second Age of Exploration

1930-Present The Second Age of Exploration is a period of interstellar expansion and exploration following the development of interstellar travel. The period starts in 1913 with the completion of the Sol-Centauri jump gate and concludes in 1932 with the Britannic War of Independence.
